Strengths: It just works. Plug it in, and it instantly works after loading built in drivers. Excellent sound quality, and a button to turn it on and off right on the base.
Weaknesses: microphone only pivots back and forth, need to manually turn base side to side to rotate it.
Summary: This microphone is very highly recommended. All of my gripes are just small nitpicks, and do not detract at all from the greatness of this microphone. Even at 30 dollars (I paid 15AR), it's still a great deal, as there are no other good usb desktop microphones. Sound quality is incredible for a computer microphone, and nothing to tweak. Just plug it in, and it works beautifully.

Strengths: Doesn't interface with sound card.
Good price, good company, and the base is weighted. GREAT quality from even 6 feet away at a normal voice on a normal volume playback.*
Weaknesses: Doesn't interface with sound card.
The green LED color, but whatever.
Need to configure sound levels.*
Summary: The dimensions are 3.5" x 3.5" x 9"

It was set on !!!5%!!! volume when I plugged it in. I could only get a good sound from 6 inches away. Now I can talk comfortably from 6 feet away. Awesome!

Strengths: every thing
Weaknesses: none
Summary: Dear friends, in 11.95 dollar i found this amazing deal, which can haver good interface with macintosh g5 version, skype, and crystal quality sound. it looks smart and believe me this is the external mic for what i am looking for since many days, as macintosh system has sound interface with skype only, macintosh g5 had no interface for old microphones. this is the best and cheapest choice that any one should go for it. it has long wire and really good quality. no driver needed and alsojust switch on swithch off kind of functions....
friends, if you are still wondering for external microphone for macintosh g5 version, em not advertizing but putting my view frankly that the cheapest and best deal is this mic only. em enjoying with talking my family in asia from america, i wish you all can have that fun.

Strengths: Clear sound, Solid construction, Plug N Play
Weaknesses: power button a little weak
Summary: The microphone is one of the best out there, and its Plug N play capability means that I can take it anywhere I want and plug it in without any extra software to carry around. I have owned 4 microphones before this and all have either broken or have had poor audio quality. The base of the mic is very sturdy and heavy to keep it well planted to your desk. The build quality is top notch and better than any mic I have tried. The only thing that is not solid in construction about the mic is the power button, it seems a little flimsy but I can always tell when it is on because the button light up a cool green glow. All in all, this is the best microphone for the best price. you dont even need to use your sound card!

Strengths: Perfect sound, Light weight, Price (15.00 this is a good buy)
Weaknesses: Nothing so far, will edit if find something.
Summary: 2004-09-01 13:02:54 This was probably the best product that I have used in a long time. I have had it for 2 weeks and I have had no problems with it, it works very well and it's also easy to unplug because it's USB, it also contains voice off and is very clear. I had my other mic which lasted 3 and a half years and then it broke 3 weeks ago, I bought this and I am even happier with this mic that with the one that I have previously, never tried a mic from Logitech before but now that I know that this is the best I will continue buying from Logitech.

Strengths: Crystal clear sound.
Weaknesses: Little big in size but still ok.
Summary: I have bought several regular mikes which plugged into the soundcard and they all had mediocore sound quality. I'm in a lot of chat rooms and always got complaints. It seems that this Logitech Microphone is the only USB microphone out there. Thank goodness it's also great quality.

first of all, i tried to find a cheap and worth of ...
Strengths: VERY WELL-DESIGNED SHAPE AND HANDY CONTROLLABLE PRODUCT
Weaknesses: NONE AS I FOUND
Summary: 2004-10-25 12:21:10 first of all, i tried to find a cheap and worth of prolonged-used webcam microphone....
this the the one attracts me. Not only because of its decent price but also it has a very crucial function which is that it can detect my voice within 5 feet clearly.
because this brand, Logitech, is well-known as decent-warranted company, i trust its popularity and design.
thank you PriceGrabber.

Strengths: Good sound...excellent range.
Weaknesses: None.
Summary: First of all...the thing looks cool! Nice black/silver combination. The range of this microphone is excellent. I can have it sitting on my desk and be 10ft. away and it still captures my voice. Great for chatting online and having your hands free to do things. Much better than using a headphone.
I would recommend this product to anyone searching for a microphone.

Strengths: Easy set-up, sleek design, quality product, low price
Weaknesses: none
Summary: This microphone works fantastically! I tested it out with SKYPE for my Macintosh G5 and I was heard "crystal clear" by some family members that are overseas. The product has a long cord (thanks!), just one button - on/off - on the base, and an adjustable angle wand. Easy USB plug-in. I have the Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard as well as the X-230 2.1 speaker system & have been very pleased with all of the products from Logitech and the prices are the best too! I paid about $19 for this unit.

Strengths: Crystal sound quality, plug & play, bypasses the impedance on a MacBook's line-in port
Weaknesses: Not as portable as a headset
Summary: I had used a headset microphone for the longest time on my PC before I got a MacBook Pro, and then realized it wouldn't work at all because the impedance of the line-in port on that notebook is too high for most minijack microphones. This mic solved that problem completely. It worked within five seconds of plugging it in, and sound quality is absolutely crystal clear over Skype. Only weakness is a little nitpicky one about portability versus a headset mic, but it in no way detracts from the perfection that is this microphone.Highly recommended.

Strengths: Price and Quality
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I bought this mic for my wife to use with IM, she loves it, she had a headset but did not like to wear it. The mic had a squeal but was just feedback, after adjusting the volume level it works fine. I have bought other Logitech products and have been happy with all of them. They make high quality products and a reasonable price.

Strengths: Plug & Play; USB connection; Illuminated power/mute switch.
Weaknesses: So far, I haven't noticed any weaknesses.
Summary: I'm really impressed! The ease of use of this microphone makes it outstanding. Simply plug it into a USB port and it's ready to use, and the handy power switch on the base lights up when it's turned on. If you like a quality microphone that is easy to use, then this is the one.

Logitech USB Desktop Microphone
Strengths: beautiful, usb plug & play instantly use no hassle
Weaknesses: fragile (bottom of the stick was easily broken without much force), low volume & cant be tune up (gotta kiss the mic frequently in order to be hear by the otherside or even yourself!)
Summary: quite unsatisfied by paying 20 bucks for it (which is the highest around similar quality product & not worth it!!), broken after 2 months carefully use (wound be great if some durable material were use like magnesium or aluminum)
