The BEL 946 uses VG-2 Guard to shut down the unit when it detects the presence of an operating VG-2 unit (radar detector detector). BEL radar detectors also detect radar signals used as part of the Safety Warning System. Safety radar is used to alert drivers to changing or potentially hazardous road conditions such as highway construction or maintenance. If safety radar is in use in your area, you'll be able to distinguish it from radar signals used for speed detection.
